BALL GROUND GA The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into a shootout and standoff on Sunday between Cherokee deputies and men from Alabama. A man was shot and died during an encounter with Cherokee Sheriffs Office deputies Tuesday the GBI reported. A field training police officer and two other people were killed in a shootout near Clayton County Georgia on Tuesday night police said.
Deputies located the man identified as Jason Peterson age 47 of Canton GA armed with a rifle.
